If your computer can boot via CD-ROM and you have Linux media: Insert the CD-ROM, boot and answer the questions. It's pretty easy.

What to do if the computer boots, but the window system fails

If the system freezes when it tries to brings up a window system with the mouse, press Control-Alt-Delete and then try to boot again. This time when you get the "Boot" prompt, type linux text (so the window system won't be used):
