Popular Email clients

• Evolution
  Evolution has a similar look to the Microsoft mail client (Microsoft Outlook). Evolution includes a mailer, calendar, contact manager, and communications tool. The optional Connector allows Evolution to access a Microsoft Exchange 2000 server to do scheduling, email, and global address book capabilities.
• Mozilla
  A good mail client worth trying (comes with a web page designer too).
• Thunderbird
  Mozilla with only the mail client.
• kmail
  The standard "KDE" desktop mail client. Good solid mail client. Won a number of awards.
• spruce
  Like kmail, but lighter, faster, with an excellent addressbook.
• balsa
  Has a look similar to Eudora

• pine
• mutt

You may also want to set it up like this:

 Tools
    Settings
        Click on line listed under the Account name.
          Click Add [or Edit if Edit is listed]
              ...
              Click on the Receiving Options tab:
                  x Automatically check every 1 minute(s)
                  x Check for new messages in all folder

                  Folders:
                      x show only subscribed folders

            Then click Apply

    Tools
        Settings
            Click on Folder Settings along the left
                    Mail: [click to the right of Mail]
                        Click on the + under user@acme.com
                            Click on INBOX
