Tim worked for Sun Microsystems Systems from 1985 - 1994 in the Consulting and Tactical Engineering groups, writing products and consulting to numerous customers in numerous areas ranging from the kernel, performance tuning and techniques.
Tim was called on to travel throughout much of the world to help solve high-visibility technical problems for customers when the local Sun offices and distributors could not solve the problems. He taught classes in the United States, Asia and Latin America. Tim jointly filed for the patent Method for Loading an Operating System Through a Network in 1989, which was awarded in 1992.
After Sun Microsystems, he founded a company which produced and marketed the ServiceWatch network management products and provided consulting services. When Extreme Networks acquired the ServiceWatch products, Tim joined Extreme Networks to lead a team in furthering the development of ServiceWatch for Linux, Solaris, and windows.
He has has consulted to numerous customers in areas such as performance tuning and configuration, distributed client-server systems, high availability design and implementation, certificate authority software configuration, network management architectures, monitoring centralized system administration strategies, system and network security, Internet presence and connectivity.
